Air Travel Apps in the UK: A Sensor Tower Q4 2020 Data Digest

The final quarter of 2020 saw fluctuating user engagement across the top five air travel applications in the United Kingdom. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers a glimpse into how these apps fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

Ryanair showed a decrease in weekly revenue, falling from $39K to $12K over the quarter. Downloads peaked at nearly 13K in mid-October but dipped to 6.8K by year-end. The app's weekly active users experienced a similar downtrend from 129K to 105K.

British Airways maintained its course with no revenue, focusing instead on download and user activity metrics. Downloads reached a high of over 12K in mid-October but later decreased to 7.3K. Weekly active users peaked at 89K in mid-October, eventually declining to approximately 70K by the end of December.

Flightradar24 | Flight Tracker saw its revenue diminish from $25K to $16K during Q4. The app's downloads displayed a mid-quarter spike of over 10K but ended the year at 8.8K. Active users showed resilience, bouncing back from a low of 102K in early December to finish the quarter strong with 115K.

easyJet: Travel App also reported no revenue, with downloads starting at 11K and reducing to 6K. The app's weekly active users declined from 163K in late September to 123K by the end of December.

Finally, Wizz Air - Book Flights did not generate revenue in Q4, with downloads showing a modest peak of 5.9K in late November and stabilizing at just under 4K by the close of the year. Weekly active users mirrored this trend, with a slight increase to 48K in late November before falling to 41K.
